Volkswagen AG's primary VW brand recorded an increase in deliveries by 13.7 percent last month to 472,100 units, which showed no indications that the company’s sales are on a slower pace. VW brand volumes improved 12.3 percent to more than 3.81 million cars in the first three quarters as growth was recorded in nearly all markets, the company stated. Volkswagen announced today that it will manufacture the redesigned Jetta beginning in October 2012 at the FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co.'s assembly plant situated in the southwest China city of Chengdu. 2012 Vw Golf R priced from $33,900

Volkswagen is introducing Golf R hot hatch to the American audience with the hope that these go-fast compacts will become more popular in the U.S. Set to make its debut in the early part of 2012, the Golf R will be available in both three- and five-door versions. They are priced from $33,900 (excluding the destination charge). The base price for the models that have navigation and sunroof rises to $35,490 (two-door) and $36,090 (four-door).  More...


Volkswagen’s Golf range has received enhancements in terms of value and appeal. For one, customers who will be ordering an R, GTD, GTI or GT model beginning today will have leather upholstery as standard. In the past, customers will have to shell out £1,890 if they opt for the luxurious black "Vienna" leather upholstery, which provides more than just a fine hide seat covering. In addition, these vehicles have Bluetooth phone preparation, which means that customers can enjoy more than £2,000-worth of extra value. Moreover, the driver’s seat has an electrical adjustment. A 35.6% improvement in Volkswagen brand sales was recorded last September compared to the previous year. Jonathan Browning, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, said that the brand is expected to still outperform the industry in the fourth quarter of 2011. He said that by the end of October, sales of the brand will reach levels that are higher than in all of 2010. In September, the brand sold 27,036 vehicles. For the first nine months of 2011, it sold 235,459 units, higher by 22% compared to the previous year. More...


Suzuki-Vw conflict remains unsolved

Friday’s deadline for Volkswagen to retract what Suzuki claims to be a defamatory accusation has passed but VW hasn’t made a move to accomplish this. This means that the public feud between the two of them has yet to be resolved. Last week, Suzuki sent Volkswagen a letter to say that it has until Sept. 30 to publicly revoke a statement that Suzuki was in violation of a pact by signing a diesel engine deal with Fiat. Suzuki said that this claim had hurt its reputation. Suzuki said last Friday that it got a response from VW that was "not worth commenting on."  More...


As you may know already, Volkswagen unveiled the all-new Up! minicar at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show but also new concepts which preview new variants of the car, such as Cross Up!, E-Up!, Study Up! Azzurra Sailing Team, Study GT Up! or the Buggy Up!. In an official statement, the German manufacturer announced that the Cross Up! Concept was actually a preview of the upcoming five-door version of the Up! minicar. According to Volkswagen, the Cross Up! Concept previews the five-door Up! but with the styling cues of an SUV, including suspension raised by 15 mm all round.  More...
